1. Acceptance

By accessing or using MachineSpeak (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms; continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use paid features. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement. We reserve the right to terminate accounts if this is found to be untrue.

3. Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
• One account per person. Shared or automated accounts are not permitted.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Free and Paid Access

Readers (Free)

All published content on MachineSpeak is free to read. No account is required to browse the site.

Writers (Paid Subscription)

• A paid Writer membership is required to submit content for publication.
• Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal. Access continues through the end of your current billing period.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 7 days of a charge for consideration.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

5. Content

Your Content

• You retain ownership of the content you submit.
• By submitting content, you grant MachineSpeak a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, display, and distribute your content on the Service and associated channels (RSS, social media cross-posts).
• You may request removal of your published content at any time by contacting the editorial team.

Editorial Review

All member-submitted content is reviewed by the MachineSpeak editorial team before publication. We reserve the right to:

• Decline to publish content that does not meet our editorial standards
• Suggest edits or request revisions before publication
• Remove previously published content if it is later found to violate these terms

Editorial decisions are at our discretion and are not subject to appeal.

Content Rules

You agree not to submit content that:

• Is plagiarized or infringes on intellectual property rights
• Contains false or misleading information presented as fact
• Includes hate speech, harassment, threats, or personal attacks
• Promotes illegal activities
• Is spam, advertising, or primarily promotional
• Contains malware, phishing links, or other harmful material
• Violates any applicable law or regulation

6. Intellectual Property

The MachineSpeak name, logo, design, and editorial content created by the MachineSpeak team are our intellectual property. The site's software, layout, and visual design may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Use the Service to distribute malware or conduct attacks
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service beyond normal browsing
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation
• Interfere with the Service's operation or other users' experience
• Use automated tools to create accounts or submit content

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, with or without notice. Upon termination:

• Your access to paid features ceases immediately
• Published content may remain on the site or be removed at our discretion
• You may request a copy of your content within 30 days of termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Active subscriptions will be canceled and no further charges will be made.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, accuracy of content, or suitability for any particular purpose. Content published by members reflects the views of the author, not MachineSpeak.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MachineSpeak and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, revenue, or profits.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.

12. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.
